No legal or social work background is required—just a compassionate heart and a commitment to advocate for a child's best interests.

The Role of a CASA Volunteer
If you resonate with the following, you might be an excellent fit:
Investigate: Gather information about the child's situation by reviewing documents and interviewing relevant parties.
Advocate:Present findings and recommendations to the court to ensure the child's best interests are prioritized.
Monitor:Ensure court orders are being followed and the child's needs are being met.
Support:Be a consistent, caring presence in the child's life during a tumultuous time.

Requirements
- Must be 21yrs or Older
- Pass background & reference checks
- Complete an Interview
- Stay with the Case until Closure, usually 18-24 months.

Training & Support
- 40 hours of pre-service training
- Ongoing mentorship & staff support
- Annual continuing education (12hrs)
Topics include child development, advocacy, legal system, and trauma-informed care
